A Typical Day at KushMart – From Morning Rush to Evening Hush

The alarm buzzes at 6:30 AM. Another day, another dollar—or in my case, another day at one of the fastest growing cannabis retailers in the region. Working at KushMart isn’t your typical retail gig, and that’s precisely why I love it.

7:30 AM: Morning Preparation

After a quick breakfast and coffee, I’m out the door by 7:30. My shift starts at 8:30, but I like to arrive early to settle in and catch up with colleagues before the day begins in earnest.

8:15 AM: Arrival and Setup

Walking into KushMart before opening hours has a certain tranquility to it. The display cases gleam under the soft lighting, products perfectly arranged from the night before. Before customers arrive, we have a brief team huddle to discuss:

  • Daily sales targets
  • New products hitting the shelves
  • Customer feedback from previous days
  • Compliance updates (a critical part of our industry)

9:00 AM: Doors Open

The morning crowd is a mixed bag. We get everyone from professionals stopping in before work to medical patients seeking relief for various conditions. What I appreciate most is the diversity of our clientele—all ages (21+, of course), backgrounds, and needs.

My role involves more than just transactions. I’m here to educate and guide, especially for newcomers who might feel intimidated by the variety of products we offer.

11:00 AM: Product Knowledge Time

One of the best parts about KushMart is how they prioritize employee education. We regularly have dedicated time slots for product knowledge sessions. Today, a vendor is coming in to introduce a new line of tinctures, explaining their extraction method, potency, and recommended usage.

1:00 PM: Lunch Break

Lunch is a chance to decompress, often with colleagues at the nearby café. We swap stories about interesting customer interactions and occasionally brainstorm ideas for the store. KushMart encourages this kind of collaborative thinking, which makes even break time feel productive.

2:00 PM: Afternoon Rush

The post-lunch hours bring our second wave of customers. This is when my product knowledge really gets put to the test. One moment I’m helping a first-timer select a mild option, the next I’m discussing terpene profiles with a cannabis connoisseur.

4:00 PM: Inventory Management

With a brief lull in customer traffic, I take the opportunity to check inventory levels and restock display cases. In the cannabis industry, inventory management isn’t just about sales—it’s a compliance requirement. Every product is meticulously tracked from arrival to sale.

5:30 PM: Evening Crowd

As workdays end across town, we welcome the evening crowd. There’s a different energy now—less rushed, more conversational. Customers often spend more time browsing, asking questions, and seeking recommendations for their evening relaxation.

8:30 PM: Closing Procedures

As we approach closing time, the team begins the methodical process of preparing for tomorrow:

  1. Reconciling registers and daily sales
  2. Updating inventory systems
  3. Securing products in accordance with regulations
  4. Cleaning and organizing display areas

9:15 PM: Team Debrief

Before heading home, we have a quick debrief about the day—what went well, what could be improved, and what to prepare for tomorrow. This constant feedback loop is part of what keeps KushMart evolving and improving.

Reflections on KushMart Life

Driving home, I often reflect on what makes working at KushMart different from other retail positions I’ve held. The combination of education, customer service, and being part of an evolving industry creates a dynamic work environment that rarely feels stagnant.

What stands out most is how KushMart balances being a business with being a resource for the community. We’re not just selling products; we’re helping people navigate their cannabis journey safely and responsibly.

Tomorrow will bring new faces, questions, and challenges—and that’s exactly why I keep coming back.
